County of Santa Clara Launches New and Expanded Drive-Through and Pop-Up Testing Locations for Free, Easy COVID-19 Testing Six New or Expanded Testing Sites at Community Centers, Parking Lots, and County Health System Locations in Milpitas, Morgan Hill, Mountain View and San Jose
Santa Clara County, CA – The County of Santa Clara is expanding access to COVID-19 testing by launching or expanding six new test locations today. The locations were chosen based on data showing a higher rate of recent cases in these areas compared to nearby areas. All people getting tested at these sites pay nothing for the test.
"The County is bringing testing capacity to where it's needed," said Cindy Chavez, President of the Board of Supervisors. "Please take advantage of this opportunity to get tested in your neighborhood: it's fast, free and you don't need insurance."
Essential workers with regular interaction with the public should get tested now and once every month going forward. This includes grocery store clerks, food delivery workers, retail associates, first responders, and many other types of workers. The County recommends that these front-line workers get tested even if they have no symptoms at all. Testing can identify the infection before a person feels unwell or before they spread it to another person with potentially deadly consequences. People can get a test through their regular doctor, or from one of these new or expanded sites around the county.
"I encourage everyone to protect themselves and their family by scheduling a test at one of our test sites throughout Santa Clara County," said County Supervisor Joe Simitian.
The tests offered are viral detection tests, which diagnose a person who currently has the infection. With the addition of these six sites, there are now at least 46 sites throughout the county offering COVID-19 viral detection testing.

Food Distribution Options
- Meals on Wheels for homebound seniors. Apply by phone at 1-800-505-3367 or online here.
- The County’s Senior Nutrition Program is offering takeout lunches for seniors over 60 at multiple locations. More information is here.
- Prepared meals and groceries for adults over 60. A list of sites is available here.
- Second Harvest Food Bank has information about free food baskets of food assistance by calling 1-800-984-3663 or online here.
- 2-1-1 provides information 24 hours a day about food distribution and a wide variety of other assistance programs.
- School districts countywide are providing grab-and-go meals to students, and in some cases adults too. A list of locations is here.
Eviction/Mortgage Moratorium
California’s major lenders have agreed to offer up to 90-days of mortgage relief for those impacted by the crisis. Information from the State of California is here. The site also contains information about the statewide eviction moratorium.
The Board of Supervisors has enacted a separate eviction moratorium for Santa Clara County. You can find more information about it here.

Clipper START is a pilot program that offers single-ride discounts of up to 50% on major Bay Area transit systems for eligible riders.
